Current PDRA vacancies: Boot-Handford lab
Our professional lab researchers comprise mostly Postdoctoral Research Associates, and many of the research groups also have technical support. Currently the Cell-Matrix Centre has 44 postdocs, and we are constantly on the lookout for new talent.
The type of people who we are looking for to do postdoctoral work in the Centre are highly motivated individuals who are deeply committed to a long term career in research. We expect that candidates will already have stellar publications before they apply, and that their ambition will be to establish their own research labs following their own line of thinking, within 5 or 6 years of the end of their tenure in the Centre.
The working environment for postdocs within the Cell-Matrix Centre is outstanding. All the Centre's labs are new, well equipped, and adjacent to each other, and Centre staff have full access to some of the world's best core facilities.
In addition, there is a strong collegiate and mentoring philosophy within the Centre. There is a Postdoctoral Representative and we are currently introducing a specific new Postdoctoral Mentoring Programme.
We particularly encourage applications from individuals who are able to obtain their own postdoctoral support, for example through EMBO or Wellcome Trust fellowships (see below)
Please contact the individual research group leaders if you would like to investigate the possibility to work in their labs.
