Wellcome to the Matrix

Making models of human eyes as part of Wellcome to the MatrixInteractive and packed one-day workshops for Key Stage 3 students to work with researchers from the Cell-Matrix Centre to use model building, team work and creativity in order to explore and learn about a wide variety of the Centre's research.


Pre-16 Work Experience

Using the lab equipment as part of the work experience programmeAfter a successful pilot work experience programme on 2013, we are now in our third year of offering a vibrant and varied work experience week for pre-16 students in collaboration with the Faculty of Life Sciences here at the University of Manchester.


A-Level Study Days

Analaysing histology sections as part of our Genes to Phenotypes A-level study dayThe Centre hosts a series of A-level Study Days together with the Manchester Museum allowing A-level and college students the opportunity to work with researchers from the Cell-Matrix Centre in practical and discussion-based workshops.


Nuffield Research Placements

Students become part of a research team for 4-6 weeks over the summer as part of the Nuffield Research PlacementsHere at the Cell-Matrix Centre we host several Nuffield bursars every summer to work alongside our researchers in the laboratories.
